Just recently, a thoughtful customer brought in a print copy of Harvest Deli’s reviews posted on Urbanspoon Vancouver. We must say, we are flattered and genuinely appreciative of you for thinking of us. Your experience and opinions are important to Harvest Deli so whether you’re a first time diner or a devoted regular, we would love to hear your feedback.
… Or even better yet, tell us which is your favorite sandwich (or sandwiches) so far!

#25 - From the Little One - Roasted free range chicken breast, baby arugula, roma tomatoes, Harvest Russian dressing, Swiss cheese on grilled Tuscany bread

Warm your tummy’s this Winter season with a bowl of Harvest soup: always fresh, vegetarian and made from quality wholesome ingredients. Come in from the cold and sample our signature Cream of Tomato. This full-bodied soup features all of the natural flavours, colours, and fragrances Mother Nature intended.
All of Harvest soups are a favourite addition to one of our many sandwiches from our menu. For a lighter fare, soup can also be served on its own with a slice of locally baked bread.

Three light fixtures up and two more going up this weekend. No more dungeon.
Here’s to getting the rotisserie receptacle sorted out, too…

Keeping up with demand is about all we’ve managed to do lately. (Apologies to all those who contributed comments only to be ignored for so long…)
We’re working on getting back on track with improvements.
1) Lighting
Plenty of folks remind us that the back of the deli is a bit dungeon-like; we’re painfully aware of that
Looks like that will be fixed this week.
2) Coffee
This has been an adventure. Seems that 49th Parallel coffee needs a $15,000 machine to make good coffee. No matter, we’ve discovered something better: Milano. Have you tried? On W 8th, just east of Columbia. Go – you will not regret it.
3) Cooler space
We can’t move forward with offering more (breakfast, dinner) because real estate in the coolers is out. Not running out – just out! Cooler delivery imminent.
4) Bread rack
Nowhere to put the bookends that house the yummy sandwich stuff. Oh, talented carpenters, where are you?
5 – 1000) Yes, the list does seem never-ending. But we love the HUGS our customers give us, so absolutely worth it!
Please do keep providing feedback – it’s the only way we’ll get better at taking care of our fabulous customers and that, after all, is the only reason Harvest exists.

Need we say more? Coming as soon as we can get the oven hooked up to power!
Once the technical details are sorted out, dinner will be served! Our fabulously loyal customers will be able to choose from sides like rice pilaf and garlic mashed potatoes, steamed veggies, as well as another take-away or eat-in main (options changing regularly to keep things fun for both clients and Chef!).

Harvest now has a burr grinder and it was tuned to make some great coffee this morning – thanks, Brett! (We started using our espresso machine last week for those that really NEEDED their caffeine, but did not have a grinder so had to make-do with pre-ground coffee. Not only do we hear the moans, but we concur.)
Next Monday, the folks from 49th Parallel will be by to fine-tune our espresso-making process so that our drinks are truly excellent. Just in time for breakfast, which has been promised and will be coming soon…
We’re mulling over options for evenings, when customers are seeking alternatives to sandwiches. Freshly made but ready-to-go hearty and delicious take-out (or stay and eat-in, if you prefer). Summer sunset beach baskets. Cheese, olive, veggie appetizers and Italian dessert ‘packages’ to complete your home-made main course. Harvest dinner parties – great conversation and music paired with amazing food. Any takers?…
Your suggestions and feedback are always appreciated – we truly want to provide a service that is valued and loved by our community.

This week, we added some Italian desserts. Normally, we prefer to source locally, but we also do want to provide special items that aren’t readily available at every other deli/cafe/restaurant in Vancouver.
We caved when we tasted these. Coming from across the continent, across the Atlantic, and across several European countries – straight from Italy!, they are necessarily frozen when they get here, but the ingredients are natural and – very importantly! – they are absolutely delicious. May we suggest trying the Forest Berry cake? The berries are lovely and the cream filling will melt in your mouth.
A heads-up that we think we may have found a whole wheat sourdough that will please even the fussiest of customers… we’ll keep you posted!
We’re planning to open for breakfast in the near future, and we also have some special plans for dinner options. Stay tuned…

We’re not quite settled into the new space, but getting there. We’re also really excited about some new ingredients…
Next week, we’ll have a premium corned beef for those who are uber-fanatics for the real deal – it’s direct from Montreal, the city of deli meats. Our corned beef sandwiches will optionally be made with this unbelievably good meat for an extra charge.
We’re slowly growing our cheese selection (for sale by weight). It now includes Santa Lucia Goat, Fontina Casaro, Asiago, Cayer Havarti, Italissima Provolone, Cambozola, Arla Fontina, in addition to our sandwich cheeses – Extra Old Cheddar, Swiss, and Bocconcini.
Finally, our olive selection includes Moroccan black olives, Cerignola mixed olive (these huge olives include lemon and lime infused varieties), and plain vanilla mixed olives.
